Welcome to Manchester Local Family Justice Board. We are comprised of representatives of the agencies involved in family justice, including, the Court's Service (HMCTS), CAFCASS, the Greater Manchester Local Authorities, Solicitors and Barristers.
The Board aims to work collaboratively to improve performance and efficiency within the local family justice system and beyond.
The website has been set up to provide people using the Family Justice System in Manchester with a convenient source of information concerning family court, resources and events.
The Family Court consists of lay justices, Legal Advisers, District Judges, Circuit Judges and High Court Judges supported by a large number of trained and dedicated clerks and administrative staff. Each day new applications are considered by a Judge and a Legal Adviser and allocated to the tier of the Family Court which is appropriate to the issues involved. The Designated Family Centre is situated at Manchester Civil Justice Centre in central Manchester.
All types of family work are conducted there, including care and adoption proceedings.
